Hannah House Ministries was founded in 1999 by Glennis and Gary Woodall. Glennis had a passion to love God and to reach women who have found themselves in a crisis pregnancy situation.  Hannah House was located in Glen Rose, Texas until 2010 when they relocated to Gilmer, Texas. 

Today, Melanie and Alan Wright oversee Hannah House.  Hannah House Ministries has now expanded on the 60 acres by adding the Gathering Place.  The Gathering Place, finished in 2021, can now house up to four women who are needing a home during their pregnancies. 

Hannah House welcomes each woman where they are on their journey.  Hannah House is located on 60 acres of beautiful and peaceful countryside. This provides our girls with the opportunity to listen and hear God, clear of distractions, so they are able to make the best decisions for their child and themselves.

Education by Design is a grass-roots intervention non-profit program for school-aged children in need of academic, social, and emotional, support, from 2nd to 11th grade. Rooted in a commitment of more than 25 years of advocacy for community development and self-empowerment, the organization’s founder Dr. Joycelyne Fadojutimi, transformed her doctoral studies into action with the establishment of Education by Design, an innovative non-profit organization to combat the ills of poverty, low educational attainment, and hopelessness.

Buckner offers a wide variety of services to children, families and single parents in the Longview area with the goal of building the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in life and fulfill their potential. **This profile highlights our BUCKNER HOPES program.** The Buckner HOPES program is an in-home parenting education, developmental assessments, resources and referrals, and family well-being support.

Buckner Children & Family Services en Longview, Tx es una organización sin fines de lucro 501(c)3. Buckner ofrece una amplia variedad de servicios a niños, familias y padres solteros en el área de Longview con el objetivo de desarrollar las habilidades y conocimientos que necesitan para tener éxito en la vida y alcanzar su potencial. **Este perfil destaca nuestro programa BUCKNER HOPES.** El programa Buckner HOPES es educación para padres en el hogar, evaluaciones del desarrollo, recursos y referencias, y apoyo para el bienestar familiar.

Lacy is a single 25-year-old facing an unplanned pregnancy, unsure if she can parent her child. Mackenzie and Taylor have been in foster care for six years and are anxiously awaiting a forever family to adopt them. Doris and Peter are empy-nesters, looking for a life of community and meaning as they live out their retirement years.

Buckner offers a wide variety of services to children, families and single parents in the Longview area with the goal of building the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in life and fulfill their God-given potential.

When you volunteer with Buckner in Longview, you will meet people like Lacy, Mackenzie, Taylor, Doris and Peter. You will minister to them and pray with them. Their stories will leave an eternal impact on your soul. The Buckner ministry is unlike any other.

In Longview, we provide:

**Foster care and adoption**

Buckner provides the training and resources needed to become a family to a child for a season through foster care or a forever family through domestic foster care or adoption. Children in these programs are most often referred through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services due to experiencing abuse, neglect or abandonment. We also respond to mothers experiencing an unplanned pregnancy with counseling and support. Learn more by calling 903-757-9383.

**Buckner Family Hope Center® in Longview**

The Family Hope Center programs offer child-centered, family-focused places where families go to find hope, support and empowerment in their community to reach their fullest God-given potential. The key to the succes of the Family Hope Center is found in combining effective programs and passionate people to help families that are experiencing poverty, family issues and lack of services.

Our programs seek to engage through family assistance and community events; equip families through education, financial empowerment, child and youth development and spiritual development; elevate families through family coaching, counseling and spiritual enrichment.

**Buckner Family Pathways®**

We provide single-parent families the opportunity to live in a safe, secure environment while completing their educational or vocational goals and learning the skills they need to be self-sufficient. Families are provided support through access to affordable housing, financial assistance, counseling, spiritual growth and case management services.

**Healthy Outcomes through Prevention and Early Support (HOPES)**

Many of the most formative moments in a child's life happen in their first five years. That's why Buckner provides crucial parent educators for vulnerable families through Buckner HOPES.
